Water & Health

An estimated 197 million people worldwide don’t have access to clean drinking water. Many millions also lack basic sanitation and medical care. During our 2023 fiscal year, friends like you helped us bless nearly 275,000 people with clean, safe drinking water sources and ship 2.4 million bottles of medicine to the needy. This year with your help, we can quench the thirst of the poor, improve sanitation and hygiene, and help families access critically needed medicine and health care.

Due to the high unemployment rate, desperately poor families lack access to health care. This makes them especially vulnerable to untreated illnesses. For the elderly and homebound, this compounding problem can dramatically reduce their quality of life. As bleak as their situation is becoming, they are being given new hope; their cries for help are being heard.

The Compassionate Franciscan Sisters of the Poor have offered up their lives to these struggling families. They provide free and low-cost healthcare to over 60 Jamaicans daily who seek their help.

Their Hope Teaching Health Clinic brings comfort and recovery to men, women and children alike. The sisters seek to minister to not only the health of their bodies, but also to their hearts and souls. Through food and wheelchair distributions, they give an encounter with the mercy of God to lonely and suffering people. You have an opportunity to take part in the sisters’ selfless and life-affirming ministry.

Give generously today to offer a healing hand to a Jamaican in need! Empower these heroic sisters to save lives and win over hearts and souls for Jesus Christ.

Absolutely! Once you select your items, you’ll be given the option of sending an e-card or printing a customizable certificate. This is a meaningful way to share Christ’s love with others while also honoring friends and family.

We are a Catholic ministry that partners with bishops, priests, religious and lay workers to provide food, water & health, housing, kids & education, women & girls, disaster relief, farming & loans opportunities and the love of our Lord Jesus Christ to the poor and vulnerable in over 30 countries around the world.

We meticulously honor the intent of our donors. All proceeds are restricted for the specific project for which they are raised, along with the fundraising and administrative expenses of that project. For each dollar you earmark for a specific project, about 83 cents goes directly to the project, while the remaining 17 cents goes to fundraising and administrative expenses for that project. Out of the combined total of all cash and material goods donated to Cross Catholic Outreach in a typical year, about 95% goes directly to programs that help the poor and vulnerable.

Donations from this campaign will be used to cover any expenditures for this project incurred through June 30, 2025, the close of our ministry’s fiscal year. In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the project, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
