Poverty Relief Projects in the Caribbean
Despite the Caribbean’s international status as a top vacation destination, up to 59 percent of the people in Caribbean nations live below the poverty line. Over 90 percent of people in Haiti, for example, are vulnerable to natural disasters, such as devastating hurricanes and earthquakes that affect long-term quality of life. In the Dominican Republic, there are severe needs for clean drinking water, nutrition, education, and medical care.
Cross Catholic Outreach is active in developing countries of the Caribbean to provide shelter, food, medical care, education, vocational training, and spiritual guidance to the poorest of the poor. Through all of our poverty work in the Caribbean and in everything we do, we remain focused on the Lord, serving with humility and spreading the hope and love of the Catholic faith. Please consider supporting our brothers and sisters in the Caribbean and helping them rise above poverty.
