Providing a Catholic Education in Santa Rosa

Invest in the futures of Guatemala’s children through Catholic education

Education provides the best path out of poverty. Yet most parents in Santa Rosa cannot afford the rising costs of tuition and have had to pull their children out of the classroom. They have been forced to pursue basic survival rather than investing in their children’s future.

Cross Catholic Outreach has partnered with Father Raúl Monterroso of the Diocese of Santa Rosa de Lima  to tackle the area’s academic challenges. Together, we will bless the poor and glorify our Lord with the construction of the first multipurpose Catholic school campus and evangelization center in the area.

Join us in this campaign to free the people of Santa Rosa from the clutches of poverty. By helping to provide a Catholic education, you can transform their lives both spiritually and materially.

Campaign Highlight

You will help build and equip a 200-student-capacity, 14-classroom Catholic school and a 2,000-person-capacity multipurpose facility, as well as fund tuition costs for 83 at-risk students.

41% of Guatemalan students

drop out of school before ninth grade

Praying for a New School

Hundreds of children squeeze into a single classroom. The atmosphere is cramped, unfocused and overcrowded. Students struggle to hear their lessons as their teachers must shout over one another in the small confines.

Despite this, students are eager to learn. They come because there is no alternative. Class sizes continue to increase in the crumbling concrete building.

Students here could benefit tremendously from a Catholic school alternative. Your donation to this project would impact 200 schoolchildren in 5 municipalities.

Building a New Catholic School in Santa Rosa

Fr. Raul wants more for the boys and girls of Santa Rosa. He is convinced it is God’s will that these children have a new school.

“Education is the best way for them to escape the vicious cycle of poverty.”

He has come to Cross Catholic Outreach with a vision to construct a beautiful, well-equipped Catholic school and multipurpose facility. With this endeavor we can nurture the economic, social, and spiritual development of Santa Rosa.

Cross Catholic Outreach

Our mission is to mobilize the global Catholic Church to transform the poor and their communities materially and spiritually for the glory of Jesus Christ. Your gift empowers us to serve the poorest of the poor by channeling life-changing aid through an international network of dioceses, parishes and Catholic missionaries. This cost-effective approach helps break the cycle of poverty and advance Catholic evangelization.

Proceeds from this campaign will be used to cover any expenditures for this project incurred through June 30, 2020, the close of our ministry’s fiscal year. In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the project, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
