Bless the Poor with a New School and Scholarships

Will you help Father Raúl lift children and families out of poverty?

Education provides the best path out of poverty. Yet most parents in Santa Rosa cannot afford the rising costs of tuition and have had to pull their children out of the classroom. They have been forced to pursue basic survival rather than investing in their children’s future.

Cross Catholic Outreach has partnered with Father Raúl Monterroso of the Diocese of Santa Rosa de Lima  to tackle the area’s academic challenges. Together, we will bless the poor and glorify our Lord by providing scholarships for 83 children and by constructing the first multipurpose Catholic school campus and evangelization center in the area.

Your heart for the poor will bless and change these children and their families.

The Importance of Scholarships for Santa Rosa’s Students

José Manuel Cian wasn’t always the bright student he is today. Years ago, he was unable to even attend classes because he lacked the proper identification papers.

Thanks to his grandmother, José now has his papers and is advancing well in his studies. But without his scholarship, he would not be able to afford to tuition costs.

Your gift to this project will provide scholarships for 83 at-risk children like José, who would otherwise miss out on an education. With your help we can continue to fund their education.

José’s Prayer

Lord Jesus,

I thank you for opening doors, and I ask you to take care of my godmother, my father and my mother and ask that you protect them in your divine hands. Help me, Lord Jesus, so that I can get ahead, also to study hard and to finish this school year. I also thank you, Lord Jesus, for the scholarship, and for my godmother, and for my uncles and aunts, and I ask God to protect all those who are helping us. Lastly, I ask you, Lord Jesus, for the gift of a new school. I praise you day and night and ask that you protect us from all evil and from every evil temptation.

Praying for a New School

Hundreds of children squeeze into a single classroom. The atmosphere is cramped, unfocused and overcrowded. Students struggle to hear their lessons as their teachers must shout over one another in the small confines.

Despite this, students are eager to learn. They come because there is no alternative. Class sizes continue to increase in the crumbling concrete building.

Students here could benefit tremendously from a Catholic school alternative. Your donation to this project would impact 200 schoolchildren in 5 municipalities.

Building a New Catholic School in Santa Rosa

Fr. Raul wants more for the boys and girls of Santa Rosa. He is convinced it is God’s will that these children have a new school.

“Education is the best way for them to escape the vicious cycle of poverty.”

He has come to Cross Catholic Outreach with a vision to construct a beautiful, well-equipped Catholic school and multipurpose facility. With this endeavor we can nurture the economic, social, and spiritual development of Santa Rosa.
