WE QUENCHED THEIR THIRST AND
SHARED LIVING WATER

Water is life.  Without access to clean drinking sources, families suffer from chronic dehydration and repeated bouts of waterborne disease. Cross Catholic Outreach provides wells and water systems that literally save lives, restoring the health of the poor and pointing them toward the Living Water of Christ. Families testify that they have more time for church and school now that they no longer spend entire days searching for water. They also benefit from the installation of proper sanitation facilities, which prevent water contamination and promote good hygiene.

In 2018, we funded water and sanitation projects in 10 countries. One of these — a project in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — provided bathrooms and sanitation facilities in an urban slum. Another project drilled clean water wells in the Diocese of Chipata in Zambia, bringing clean water to thousands of people.

Chipata Diocese Water

Zambia - Project 1583

In Zambia’s Vumwi District, families have been suffering from disease and lack of clean water for generations. But through Cross Catholic Outreach’s partnership with the Diocese of Chipata, hand-pump water wells were constructed for five villages in need. Now that families have clean, plentiful water, hygiene will improve, as will the overall health of the community. Clean water changes everything!
