Larry Perkins’ journey as a Knight of Columbus shows what happens when faith is put into motion, and men choose to walk together with purpose.
In the 20 years since joining the Knights of Columbus, Larry has had many roles, but today he serves as the membership director for the Dr. John Henry Griffin Council #2293. His journey began with a simple invitation — a fellow parishioner encouraged him to join, and Larry answered the call. That “yes” has connected him to a brotherhood that has strengthened his faith, deepened his sense of purpose, and reminded him that no man is meant to walk the road of faith alone.
Larry feels that the brotherhood he shares with his fellow knights is strongest when they come together to lead their community in serving the least of God’s children. In his local council, Larry has helped organize Box of Joy collections and supports local food packing events. These aren’t empty words of support for those in need; these are tangible ways Larry and his brother knights are becoming the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. He values these moments most because they allow him to serve vulnerable children directly, meeting real needs and sharing God’s love.
Like so many fellow knights, Larry feels compelled to act by his conviction as a Christian. He takes pride in the work that he and his council do together, not for recognition, but because they are making a real difference. Their service reflects their commitment to live out the faith they profess every Sunday. Thank you to Larry and his brother knights for providing God’s love and mercy to the poorest of the poor!
