Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor
This month’s “Light on a Knight” features Virginia State Deputy Mark Janda. Having served in numerous leadership positions and now as State Deputy, Mark has been an incredible support, encouraging councils throughout the state to participate in serving the poor around the world.
Last summer, Mark and his wife, Ruth, helped launch their council’s first experience with Box of Joy®! The event was a huge success leading to local councils and the Ladies of Virginia working together to bless 2,300 children in developing countries with Christmas gifts.
We are proud to recognize Mark for his inspiring leadership and continued support of ministry partners serving the poor in developing countries. Thank you, Mark, for putting your faith into action.
Our mission is to mobilize the global Catholic Church to transform the poor and their communities materially and spiritually for the glory of Jesus Christ. Your gift empowers us to serve the poorest of the poor by channeling life-changing aid through an international network of dioceses, parishes and Catholic missionaries. This cost-effective approach helps break the cycle of poverty and advance Catholic evangelization.
