Mozambique has been hit hard by Africa’s HIV/AIDS crisis, with 2.1 million infected people — the world’s third-highest number (CIA World Factbook). This crisis has left approximately 2 million children orphaned by one or both parents (UNICEF).
Association Cross Mozambique (ACM) has a vision to rescue this orphaned generation of children. ACM provides food, water, education, medicine, spiritual formation, a girls’ rescue ministry, safe housing, elderly care and microenterprise programs.
Thanks to your support:
Meeting the Needs of the Whole Person
By meeting material and spiritual needs, ACM makes an important investment in the next generation. This support helps children break the cycle of poverty and be transformed by the Gospel!
Clemente Faustino, 15, became an orphan when his mother passed away from HIV/AIDS, and he also suffers from the virus. Without care, he became weak and sick and eventually dropped out of school.
When ACM provided him with daily meals, his strength and health improved. Now he is attending school and is an active participant in ACM’s activities.
He was recently elected the reporter of a local youth club. One day, he hopes to use his passion for reporting to become a journalist or civil engineer.
Helena Chai, 13, is an orphan who used to live with her four brothers in a crumbling house. To make matters worse, Helena had no birth certificate, so she was unable to attend school.
With your support, the Chai siblings now live in a repaired house and the staff helped Helena obtain her birth registration.
Helena is also attending school for the very first time in her life. Thank you for being part of this wonderful success story!
Because of your generosity, orphans and vulnerable children can dream of a better future. Young girls have the opportunity to achieve their goals. At-risk elderly are receiving healthy meals, medical care and friendship. Families who once lived in crumbling huts now have a safe place to call home, and mothers are empowered with practical skills to succeed. Thank you for joining the rescue mission!
Proceeds from this campaign will be used to cover any expenditures incurred through June 30, 2024, the close of our ministry’s fiscal year. In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the project, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
